WHAT DO YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT TRANSFORMATION WITH MIND-BODY-ENERGY COACHING
I would like to be more conscious of my food choices and consumption- how?
I know should listen before I talk, yet I tend to talk and suggest or advise more?
I know that I should be calmer, yet I react with anger?
Compulsive habits, compulsive behavior, and thinking stunts growth.
Change happens when we include the body also in the process
The somatic approach to coaching is a scientific process to break internal resistance to change and transformation.
The cerebral cortex is the seat of cognition, attention, perception, awareness, thought, language, and consciousness.
While one is born with a more developed lower brain or the limbic system and the spine, we are born with a not so developed cerebral cortex.
The brain is supposed to double its size in the first year and grows to about 80% of its size by the time one is three years old.
The question is how does a baby make decisions without the fully developed cerebral cortex.
A baby is more sensitive to energy shifts. A shift in energy is perceived as an emotion by the mind and decisions are made abstractly without much cognitive or reasoning by the baby.
Primal decisions are about physical safety. The presence of physical safety is a pleasure. Absence is pain.
All decisions and strategies to increase this pleasure and avoid pain revolve around certain key decisions made between birth and 7 years of one's life.
These decisions are mostly unconscious.
Each decision is entangled with many other decisions. Hence cognitive process alone may not be sufficient for the change to manifest.
The decisions made as a baby and as a child before you were seven years old have been made with reasoning based on instincts from the limbic brain and spinal cord as they were more developed.
The conflict which one experiences is the conflict between the more informed, experienced, and mature adult mind that wants to move forward from the current context and the deeper decisions made as a child that are unconscious, sometimes even out of context and mostly unconscious.
This unconscious process hardly surfaces in self-reflective process-based coaching.
Coaching that includes the body and energy flows within you along with a self-reflective process based on the observation of what happens in the body can help to dissolve inner resistance to transformation and make transformation happen faster
