Like a child who is made to believe that a happy life is possible by learning to be better than others in a class, many believe that by doing complicated yogic postures one is doing advanced Yoga.  Gymnastics teaches twists better than Yoga, is it not?

Yoga Therapy

Yoga is mostly linked to form. Few link Yoga to breath and Mind. Very few know that Yoga can help one go beyond this. The moment I say this, the mind starts imagining those moments when one would have experienced moments of ecstasy, here and there in the past. A voice may also say, "yes, I know it". The challenge with Yoga and living beyond the body and mind is exactly this. It is very difficult to discriminate between reality and imagination in a world where is no form. Yoga therapy thus demystifies this. No imagination. Start with where your body and mind are. Learn to bring them back to health. In the process of bringing them back to health, you may learn. The more you talk or think or say 'I know it' till then, know that you do not know.

Yoga Therapy is a self–empowerment process; as one deepens the knowledge of one’s own mind and energy movement, the learning of how to handle the mind, body, and energy dawns naturally.

Yoga therapy is not Yoga. Yoga therapy can also be considered a process that prepares one for yoga. Yoga therapy utilizes the principles of Yoga and yogic tools to heal and transform.

Yoga therapy is about working systematically and progressively with the energy centers of the body 

The whole of life is energy. When you have more energy you have an intention to act, to move, to work. If not, you wish to take rest; to sleep. A huge amount of energy is lost by the unconscious generation and multiplication of thoughts. Hence as one grows older, though there is a desire to work, there is less energy. Psychological Challenges and physical challenges take over. Energy mastery is a result of proper yoga practice that involves the body and breath and staying with them. Not imagining about these centers, which can lead to delusion in a way.

Key energy centers are aligned along the spinal column vibrating at different frequencies. If one learns to restore them to their original frequency, life changes like magic. 

Yoga Therapy

Just as you have a physical body organized in a certain way, which includes your brain, spine, and important organs, key energy centers are aligned along the spinal column vibrating at different frequencies. If one learns to realign them and put them in natural order life changes like magic. In a way, the goal of Yoga therapy is to get this internal energy array aligned properly.

Yoga therapy is working with the mind using the body and breath as a tool. The deepest anxieties, fears, delusions, joy, anger are stored in the form of certain vibrations. Our experiences are related to emotions are also held together by these vibrations. Yoga therapy is a tool where we systematically work with the body to bring the vibrations back to their original state. The subtle change can be seen from the first or second week of guided practice. The degree of change is related to the intensity of practice and degree of sense of abandon with which one works with oneself.

As I say this there is also a danger of one imagining to have contacted that core intelligence. I have been doing yoga for many years. I have three certificates.. The same danger lurks in any form of self or guided healing process. Hence Yoga Therapy begins and ends in the here and now. How is your body? How happy are you? How is your sleep? How is your energy level?

Yoga Therapy - Psychotherapy

Yoga Therapy is the deepest form of psychotherapy that needs minimal or no personal disclosure. It may not be necessary to revisit the past, share your personal challenges which you may not feel like sharing. The work begins by beginning to understand your basic food – sleep – energy patterns, body structure, and family history to the extent to which you are comfortable sharing. We then start from where your body-mind-breath complex invites us to begin from. we start with your basic parameters - BMI, Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar levels, if required Hormone profile, appetite, sleep, digestion, sleep, etc. While the number matters, what matters more is how you say, what you say. Yoga Therapy is thus the deepest form of psychotherapy.  After this, we start working with your body, using breath, movement, and sound. It is thus psychotherapy without any big disclosure.
